  1. Congratulations. How interesting to be so acquainted with birth and then get to welcome one of your own into the world. I'm going to keep pushing for that essay on motherhood... :-)

  3. oh janice, congratulations! what a beautiful baby. look at that pout!

while you will certainly want to write about this new experience, i urge you question how this experience of mothering compares to the one that you went through adopting your son? how did this experience compare with the all the births that you've witnessed through your job? how are you seeing birth through new eyes, and how can you relate this experience to all the mothers out there, as well as all of us who have mothers but aren't one ourselves?

    congratulations again.

  6. Yay janice! How does it feel to be a grandma? (you are a very hip and cool grandma by the way). I agree that a piece on this experience would be wonderful. I wrote an essay about the day my nephew was born (i was there at the hospital) and there really is nothing comparable.

Please feel free to jot down your thoughts. I would appreciate knowing your reaction if any, to what I've written, and/or your feedback on how I've written it. I am actively trying to be a better writer.
