I think this could be a longer piece about your experience with Katrina and helping the people there. And I agree with the above comments--your conclusion is refreshing and interesting and worth exploring more.KateHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00086624223570091186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452711402584389245.post-50392676581130092922009-02-24T23:08:00.000-05:002009-02-24T23:08:00.000-05:00Yes, I agree with Emily that the ending is what is...Yes, I agree with Emily that the ending is what is the most interesting. I would love to have seen a vivid scene of your time down south as juxtaposition to what you came home to.Amy Holwerdahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06856350842521318963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452711402584389245.post-9320703034943069202009-02-24T23:00:00.000-05:002009-02-24T23:00:00.000-05:00This is interesting, Janice. I thought for sure that you'd end this piece with a reflection like, "And I felt so guilty for having nice things when victims of Katrina had nothing." Your conclusion was more fascinating than that. This focus on valuing your home helps you understand what the victims of Katrina have gone through. To have established a home, quite possibly with great living room furniture that comforted them in the same way it comforts you, and to have that home obliterated.emilyrodgershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18094070663103290128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4452711402584389245.post-60178181757885394982009-02-23T11:02:00.000-05:002009-02-23T11:02:00.000-05:00I love this quick look into your time with the Kat...I love this quick look into your time with the Katrina aftermath. And the connection with the living room furniture is great. I would love to hear more about this experience...what people did you help? Did you spend much time with them? Do you remember their names? Its so jolting to experience such loss and realize how much you actually have. The only positive in situations like that...Libbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15091917416851709685noreply@blogger.com
